    Undertook a governance review of the Trust and facilitated a visioning exercise with the Trustees and staff.

    Advised the Trust on future use and development of the historic Riding House.
    Secured development funding for an HLF Enterprise application with Dorset Visual Arts as prospective tenant.
  • East Anglian Railway Museum (2017/8)

    Working with the Trustees to strengthen the Board and develop a long-term vision fot the site.

  • West Somerset Railway (2017)

    Produced a prospectus for the Southern Gateway development at Bishop's Lydiard and a strategy for public investment.

  • Wimborne Minster (2017)

    Facilitated visioning session with Minster Governors and local stakeholders on development and creation of a visitor centre.

  • Gilbert White's House and the Oates Museum (2017)

    Working with Trustees, staff  and volunteers to identify a vision and strategic priorities for future development.

    Supporting Trustees with transfer to a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) and appointments to new Board

  • Priest's House Museum and Garden (2017)

    Leading up review of governance and supporting recruitment of new Trustees and creation of new Friends organisation.

  • Stained Glass Museum (2017)

    Facilitated workshop with Trustees and Director to scope future development options and process to identify potential sites and partners for potential relocation of the Museum.

  • Judge's Lodging (2016)

    Undertook a staff and govenance review of the Judge's Lodging at Presteigne in Powys.

  • Somerset and Dorset Railway Trust (2016)

    Undertook an options appraisal for a new museum development at Washford, Somerset.


  • Stoke sub Hamdon Priory (2015/16)

    Led a consultancy team to develop options for the future use of a medieval chantry house and associated farm buildings in Somerset for the National Trust and to identify conservation and repair needs.


  • Greenfield Valley Trust, Flintshire (2015)

    Undertook a governance and management review of the Greenfield Valley Trust in North Wales to identify a sustainable way forward for the Greenfield Valley Heritage Park and Farm Museum.
  • Dartmoor Museums Association (2015)

    Undertook management and governance review for Trustees of Dartmoor Museums Association.


  • Bishop’s Palace (2014/15)

    Produced an interpretation strategy and design concept for the Bishop’s Palace at Wells with recommendations for implementation.

  • Jenner Trust (2014)

    Supported the trust with the transition of the original Trust into a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), recruiting and induction of a new trustee board and developing a business plan.

  • Bradford on Avon Museum (2014)

    Worked with the Bradford on Avon Museum Society to produce a prospectus and service offer for  a new museum development in the town.

  • Kingswood Museum (2014)

    Undertook options study for Trustees of Kingswood Museum.
  • Cynon Valley Museum and Art Gallery (2014)

    With Development Trusts Association Wales supported development of a business plan for the Cynon Valley Museum and Art Gallery Steering Group to transfer the museum from the local authority to a newly created  independent trust.

  • Underfall Trust (2011/14)

    Ongoing work with the Underfall Trust including producing a strategic plan for developing the Trust’s activities at the western end of Bristol’s Historic Harbour and an interpretation strategy for the site as part of a successful Round 2 HLF bid.

  • Somerset Arts Promoters (2009)

    Reviewing the development needs and options for a sustainable structure for arts organisations in Somerset as part of the ACE Thrive initiative.
  • Gilbert White’s House and the Oates Museum (2008)

    Reviewed current operation and produced a development and business plan for the House, gardens and Field Studies Centre.
  • Royal Cornwall Museum (2008)

    Advised on the creation of a strategic museum partnership in Cornwall and a local authority advocacy campaign.
  • Priest’s House Museum and Garden (2007)

    Supported the staff and trustees in developing a 3 year business plan for the new Learning Resource Centre and the Museum.
  • West Cornwall Artists Archive (2007)

    Produced development options for the archive and proposals for a virtual learning resource in association with Exeter University and the Tate Archive.
  • Galleries of Justice, Nottingham (2005)    

    Reviewed development options for the Trustees of the Galleries of Justice, including recommendations for operational and financial changes to the Trust.

  • Plymouth City Council (2012)

    Visioning exercise for the Factory Cooperage Project at the Royal William Yard.
  • Wiltshire Council (2011)

    Reviewed the effectiveness of museums marketing and museums infrastructure in Wiltshire for the Museums Advisory Service.
  • Bristol City Council/ National Historic Ships (2009)

    Undertook a development study of South Harbourside looking at potential for creation of a new ‘cultural’ quarter and synergies between cultural and heritage activity.
  • Reading Borough Council (2009)

    Reviewed and produced a development study of Reading Museum and Town Hall, including space usage within the complex, management structure and programming of cultural activity.
  • Kent County Council/ Folkestone Town Council (2009)

    Undertook a collections assessment and options study for a new heritage development in Folkestone.
  • North Devon District Council (2008)

    Advised on the future development of four community museums in North Devon, and the North Devon Agricultural Collection.
  • Hampshire County Council (2008)

    Advised on the future development of SEARCH and options for Gosport Museum.
  • Dorset County Council (2008)

    Advised on the commercial development of the Dorset History Centre (led by David Sekers Consulting).
  • North Devon District Council  (2007)

    Produced a service concept and aims for the North Devon Museums Service, pending transfer to the North Devon Theatres Trust.
  • London Borough of Greenwich (2007)

    Supported an efficiency saving exercise for the Greenwich Heritage Centre and Fire Power at Woolwich Arsenal.
  • Carlisle District Council (2006)

    Developed concept of a Cultural City for Carlisle as part of Carlisle Renaissance and developed an interpretation strategy for the Historic Quarter.
  • Plymouth City Council (2006)

    Undertook a risk assessment on the proposed Plymouth History Centre, embracing the Plymouth and West Devon Records Office, South West Film and Television Archive, Plymouth Library and Plymouth Museums Service.
  • Hampshire County Council (2006)

    Reviewed staffing requirements of Milestones, Hampshire’s Living History Museum pending transfer to trust status.
  • Weymouth and Portland District Council (2005)

    Produced options for future development of Weymouth and Portland museums together with a concept study and development plan for Portland Museum.


Regional Agencies

  • SHARE Museums East (2014/15)

    Delivered a series of workshops in Essex, Suffolk and Hertfordshire to support museums develop new forward plans.
  • Museums, Libraries and Archives Council East Midlands (2007)

    Undertook review of staff and key functions of the agency.
  • East Midlands Museum Renaissance (2005)

    Conducted a structural review of how the Renaissance programme is delivered in the region, along with other assignments to review how support for smaller museums in the region could be strengthened and partnership working developed.
  • East Midlands Museums, Libraries and Archives Council (2005)

    Produced a regional strategy for East Midlands museums linked to regional and national policy analysis.


National Agencies

  • Museums, Libraries and Archives Council (2006/07)

    Supported a UK-wide study to research and review current and potential partnerships between regional and national museums, The British Library and The National Archive.

    Facilitated a series of national workshops to identify a cultural programme for the 2012 Olympics.

    Led a working party to develop a performance framework within the Museums Accreditation Standard for CPA and Accreditation Plus.
